I know someone who is an Area Manager for a charity and oversees a number of charity shops in the area. they have introduced a number of changes that has resulted in a fourfold increase in revenue for the charity from these shops.
The Area Manager was called to a meeting with their bosses last week. Did they receive loads of recognition for increasing revenue so dramatically? Did they get asked to prepare a blueprint of Best Practise to share round the organisation? Did they get a simple Thank You for a job well done on behalf of the groups that will benefit from the charity’s work?
No, instead they were taken to task for making the work of the elderly staff more difficult…….
Sounds like someone needs a coaching session to help them realign the goals of the organisation. 🙂
